In this classic musical by Stephen Sondheim, the world of fairy tales is fractured in a powerful and tuneful way. When a baker and his wife learn they have been cursed by the witch next door, they embark on a quest to break the spell by swindling, lying to, and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk). However, what begins a lively irreverent fantasy becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children when the characters are forced to face the consequences of their actions. |

How do you spell H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S? In this new musical comedy, six young overachievers in the throes of adolescence compete in the most American of competitions, the spelling bee. Overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, these kids learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessary make you a loser. Each night, four audience members will be chosen to join the bee, so come early to be part of the competition. |
