Our 2011-12 Season

Into The Woods

November 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 & 19 - 2011 at 8 PM
Matinees, November 6 & 13 - 2011 at 2 PM

In this classic musical by Stephen Sondheim, the world of fairy tales is fractured in a powerful and tuneful way.  When a baker and his wife learn they have been cursed by the witch next door, they embark on a quest to break the spell by swindling, lying to, and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk).  However, what begins a lively irreverent fantasy becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children when the characters are forced to face the consequences of their actions.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

March 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 & 17 - 2012 at 8 PM
Matinees, March 4 & 11 - 2012 at 2 PM

How do you spell H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S? In this new musical comedy, six young overachievers in the throes of adolescence compete in the most American of competitions, the spelling bee. Overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, these kids learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessary make you a loser. Each night, four audience members will be chosen to join the bee, so come early to be part of the competition.
